NAVCANatm user group Conference

Representatives from the branch attended the NAVCANatm user group conference in Edinburgh this week.

The event was aimed at ANSPs and users who are the primary user groups for EXCEDS and EFPS. A number of ANSPs; including NATS, ANS, ENAV (Italy) attended along with union reps from the Branch and NATCA. The conference was an example of a collaborative approach by NAVCANatm who truly believe that unions are a key stakeholder in ATM technology.

Presentations were given on a number of relevant topics ranging from integration of NAVCANatm systems into other controlling tools, AERION ADS-B surveillance and a presentation from NATS detailing how they had successfully introduced EXCDS into TC.

The event is planned to become a regular occurrence with a focus on user groups helping to develop EXCDS systems for use with ATM operations as they develop in the changing environment we operate in.
