Please Support the Travel Day of Action!
Today, Wednesday 23rd June, is the Travel Day of Action on which Prospect along with other workers, Unions and businesses are calling on the Government to support the safe return of International travel and provide further support to the travel sector. It is proposed that this can be done in a properly risk managed manner by properly implementing the Global Travel Taskforce’s plan for a traffic light system with an expanded green list when appropriate whilst maintaining a strong red list to protect the country against new variants. In addition to this the Government should provide a package of properly tailored financial support that recognises that the travel sector has not been to recover and generate income as quickly as had been hoped.
If members wish to support this day they can write to their MP, a template letter is available on the Prospect website at https://prospect.eaction.org.uk/traveldayofaction. Members can also voice their support on social media using the hashtag #TravelDayOfAction tagging their MP in if appropriate.
ATCOs’ Branch Executive

I know who my MP is and where his office is, but the fact that he ignored four of us who worked together and wrote to him (separately) about the plight of our industry last year, added to his little floor sweeper’s job at the MOD (he’s ex army) which takes up all his time, means I’d be better off howling at the moon than bothering to waste my time writing to him again.
For anyone thinking of emailing their MP, the link is very quick and simple. I just needed to put my postcode in and my MP’s email address was auto populated in, then filled in my own details.
Thanks to Prospect for setting that up.
