The process for ATCO medicals is changing

From March 29th you will have to complete your medical application form online before you attend your medical with an Aeromedical Examiner.

In order to do this you must do 2 key actions:

1. From now – go to the CAA customer portal to set up an account and request access to the Cellma medical system.

It can take at least 10 days from starting the process to be able to access the system. Therefore, it is imperative that members who require a medical for their licence register as soon as possible. Do not wait until your medical is due, do it as soon as you can.

2. If you have a medical booked from 29th March onwards, log in to your CAA portal account and apply for a medical (Class 3 ATCO). You will need to complete your application form online and pay £14 upfront. This needs to be done before you attend your medical in person.

Keep an eye on the CAA website here for regular updates: Customer portal | UK Civil Aviation Authority (caa.co.uk)

Any movement from NATS Director Operations on non-regulatory ATCO medicals ? These were suspended after Lockdown 1 for supervisory ATCOs who don’t hold validations ie. OS/GS/ACM.
